“Preparing our work for hanging”
With our own exhibition coming up in November, making sure our work will hang successfully is very important. So this evening was a very relaxed evening designed by Melanie and Lori to give advice on how to go about preparing our work for display.
For those with framing queries Melanie had brought samples of mounting card and frames from her ‘Little Bird Told Me’ Gallery. This meant that we could see how our work would look when mounted and framed using different colours and textures. There was also advice on how to get our work to hang correctly on a wall or display board.
For those with unframed work Lori was helping with advice on how and when to trim our work to make it more balanced or dynamic. Lori had brought her own equipment for mounting and framing so that we could see what we would need to do our own. There were mounts, backing boards and wrapping on show as these are essential for making the unframed work visitor proof.
In between times we were able to exchange tips amongst ourselves and get a sneak preview of some of the work that will be going into our Exhibition in November.
